Lobby & Interior Signs

Because the inside of your building is still part of your brand.

Lobby & Interior Signs — United Signs

Lobby & Interior Signs

The lobby is the first thing a client, patient, or visitor experiences inside your building. That moment forms an impression that is hard to undo. Whether it is a dimensional logo wall in a corporate reception area, wayfinding through a hospital floor, or suite identification across a multi-tenant office building, interior signage is where your brand lives closest to the people who matter most to your business.

United Signs designs, fabricates, and installs lobby and interior sign programs in-house from start to finish. Material selection, finish, mounting, and placement are all determined by the space, the traffic it handles, and what the sign needs to do over time. We do not produce generic interior packages. Every program is built around the specific environment it is going into.

Interior signage is also where consistency matters most. A lobby sign that looks premium next to suite identification that looks like an afterthought sends a message you did not intend. We manage the full scope so every piece, from the reception logo wall to the last room identifier, reads as a single coherent program.

Lobby and Interior Sign Types We Fabricate

Interior signage covers a wider range of applications than most clients expect going in. Here is what we build and where each type is typically used.

Reception and Lobby Logo Walls

Dimensional letters, logos, and brand marks mounted to reception walls, feature walls, and building entries. Built in metal, acrylic, or a combination of both depending on the finish and the visual weight the space calls for. This is typically the centerpiece of an interior sign program and the piece that sets the standard for everything else.

Office and Suite Identification

Individual suite numbers, company nameplates, and tenant identification for multi-floor or multi-tenant buildings. Produced in consistent materials and finishes across every floor so the building reads as a unified environment rather than a collection of individual decisions.

Conference Room and Door Signs

ADA-compliant room identification signs for conference rooms, private offices, break rooms, and shared spaces. Where the space requires it, these are produced with raised characters and Grade 2 Braille. Where it does not, finish and material are selected to match the interior design of the floor.

Donor and Recognition Walls

Permanent recognition installations for hospitals, universities, nonprofits, and cultural institutions. Built in engraved or dimensional formats with individual name panels, category headers, and organizational branding. Designed to accommodate additions over time without disrupting the existing layout.

Environmental and Branded Graphics

Large-format wall murals, mission statements, values walls, timeline graphics, and branded environmental installations. Produced on cast vinyl or printed and mounted rigid substrates depending on the surface and how permanent the installation needs to be. Common in corporate offices, healthcare facilities, and educational environments where culture and identity are part of the interior design intent.

Building Directories

Freestanding or wall-mounted directories for multi-tenant buildings, hospitals, campuses, and government facilities. Available in static engraved or changeable insert formats. Produced in aluminum, acrylic, or a combination of both depending on the volume of tenants and how frequently the directory needs to be updated.

Elevator and Floor Identification

Floor number indicators, elevator lobby signage, and stairwell identification. Designed to meet building code and ADA requirements where applicable and to integrate with the broader sign program throughout the building.

Is Lobby and Interior Signage Right for You?

Interior signage applies to almost every commercial facility, but the scope and approach vary significantly by building type. Here is a straightforward look at what applies to your situation.

Lobby and interior signs make sense if

  • You have a client-facing or patient-facing interior where the physical environment reflects on your brand or organization. Law firms, medical practices, financial institutions, hotels, and corporate headquarters are the most common examples, but this applies anywhere people form opinions based on what they see inside your building.
  • You are fitting out a new office, clinic, or campus building and need a sign program that covers every interior touchpoint from the lobby through to individual room identification.
  • You are managing a multi-tenant building and need consistent, professional identification across all floors and common areas that holds up through tenant turnover.
  • You have a donor recognition, memorial, or heritage installation that needs to be built to a standard that reflects the weight of what it represents.

You may be in a different situation if:

  • Your primary need is exterior identification visible from the street or parking lot. Channel letters, monument signs, and pylon signs are built for that application. Interior signage handles what happens once someone is already inside.
  • You need temporary interior signage for an event or short-term promotional campaign. For those applications, large format graphics on removable substrates are a faster and more cost-effective path.

Not sure what your interior needs? We will walk your space, map every sign location, and come back with a clear scope before any design work begins.

Why Choose United Signs for Lobby & Interior Signs

Professional Aesthetics

Every sign is built to complement your interior, not compete with it.

Wayfinding Solutions

Clear, intuitive signage that moves people through your space without confusion.

Versatile Materials

Material and finish are selected based on your environment, traffic, and how the space is used.

What Goes Into Every Interior Sign We Build

Interior signage lives close to people and at eye level. The finish, the edge quality, and the mounting precision matter in a way they simply do not on an exterior sign viewed from 50 feet away.

Aluminum

Used where a metal finish is part of the design intent. Painted, brushed, anodized, or powder-coated depending on the look required. Aluminum holds its finish in high-traffic interior environments and does not discolor over time the way some coated materials do.

Bronze and Brass

Used for donor walls, memorial plaques, and heritage installations where the material itself communicates permanence and significance. Available in a range of patinas and lacquered or unlacquered finishes depending on whether the natural aging of the metal is part of the design.

Standoffs and Mounting Hardware

Interior signs are viewed at close range, which means the mounting method is part of the aesthetic. We spec standoffs, spacers, and flush-mount hardware based on the wall surface and the visual treatment required. Shadow lines, reveal gaps, and float distances are all deliberate decisions, not defaults.

Frequently Asked Questions

Any facility where clients, patients, tenants, or visitors spend time inside the building. Corporate offices, medical practices, hotels, law firms, financial institutions, universities, and government buildings are the most common. If people form opinions based on what they see inside your space, interior signage is part of that equation.

Yes. We manage programs from a single lobby logo wall to a complete interior sign package covering every floor, every room, and every common area in the building. Design, fabrication, and installation are all handled by our team.

Room identification signs for permanent spaces, restrooms, elevators, and exits are required to meet ADA standards, including raised characters, Grade 2 Braille, and non-glare finishes. Decorative and directional signs that do not identify a specific room are not subject to the same tactile requirements. We identify what needs to meet ADA standards during the survey and build accordingly.

Yes. We work from your brand guidelines, Pantone references, and exact font files. Color and finish are matched to your standards before fabrication begins, not approximated based on what is available.

We produce sign programs as a single coordinated package, with consistent materials, finishes, and tolerances across every floor and every building in the program. This is particularly important for multi-tenant buildings and campus environments where inconsistency between floors or buildings is immediately noticeable.

It depends on the size and scope of the program. A single lobby installation typically runs 3 to 4 weeks from approved shop drawings to installation. A full building program or multi-location rollout is scheduled in phases, and we give you a production timeline upfront so you can plan around it.

Yes, and we design them with that in mind. Name panels and category headers are produced with consistent spacing and a modular layout so additions can be incorporated without altering the existing installation or creating a patchwork appearance.

A lobby sign is typically a dimensional logo, nameplate, or identification element. An environmental graphic is a large-format printed installation, a mural, a values wall, or a timeline graphic that transforms a surface into a branded or experiential environment. Many interior programs include both, and we handle both in-house.
