If you have spent years managing sign projects but never built a list of your own customers, sign project manager careers may seem out of reach. However, at United Signs, that is not the case. If you have at least 3 years of actual project management experience in the sign industry, we want to hear from you, with or without customers of your own.
Sign project manager careers without your own customers
You do not need your own customers to apply.
We are looking for sign industry project managers who can run real projects from kickoff through close-out.Customer relationships are welcome, but they are not a requirement. Instead, delivery experience is.
Why this concern comes up
Many job posts for sign professionals focus on sales. They ask for a book of business, a target number or a list of accounts you can bring along. So if your strength is getting projects built correctly, that language can feel like a closed door.
In fact, plenty of strong project managers have spent their careers on the delivery side. They keep schedules, budgets and crews moving, but they rarely get credit for the customer relationships they helped protect.
What counts as delivery experience
Sign project management covers a lot of ground. Your background may include:
- Managing project budgets and tracking costs
- Coordinating site surveys and shop drawings
- Handling permits and approvals
- Working with vendors and fabrication teams
- Scheduling and coordinating installation
- Communicating with customers throughout the project
- Closing out finished work
So if you have done these things as the person responsible, that is the experience we mean.
What does not meet the requirement
To keep things clear, general sales experience alone does not meet the 3-year requirement. Instead, we need actual project management experience in the sign industry. If your background is mostly sales, this role may not be the right fit, and that is fine.
Why delivery skill matters in sign project manager careers
For example, a sign project can go wrong in many small ways. A missed site condition, an unclear drawing, a late vendor or an unpriced change can turn a good project into a costly one.
A project manager who handles these problems well protects the customer’s experience and the project’s results. Strong delivery shows up in several ways:
- Clear updates when schedules shift
- Approvals that keep moving
- Costs that stay under control
- Installations that match what the customer approved
Those habits matter in sign project manager careers whether or not you bring your own customers.
Earning opportunity in sign project manager careers
The opportunity is up to a 50% payout of net project profit under agreed compensation terms.
Please keep a few points in mind:
- “Up to” means the percentage is not the same for every project or person
- We calculate it on net project profit, not on revenue
- It is not guaranteed
- A written agreement covers the definition of net profit, eligible work, and payout timing
We do not promise customer leads or a set workload. In fact, we would rather say that plainly now than leave you guessing later.
Remote opportunities
Remote opportunities are available. Working remotely means coordinating customers, vendors, schedules and budgets without a shared office, so clear communication and dependable follow-through matter.
What to include when you apply
Send us:
- Your resume
- A brief project summary
- Your years of sign project management experience
- The types of projects you have managed
- Whether you bring your own customer relationships
For the project summary, a few sentences about one or two projects is plenty. Please share only nonconfidential details.
Have customers? That works too
If you do have your own customers, you are welcome here as well. Still, this post is simply here to say that a smaller customer list does not rule you out.
